Research Description
- I am currently a 2nd year Ph.D. candidate. My research is focusing on persistence of residential-use pesticides on urban hard surfaces.
- Many research and monitoring results have demonstrated the wide-spread contamination of creeks, water columns and sediments by pesticides of urban-use origin. However, current studies still lack sufficient information to support contamination remediation strategies.
- The previous studies performed on simulated concrete disks revealed a fast disappearance of pesticides in the runoff followed by a prolonged pesticide contamination. Further research is continuing to explore the underlying mechanisms.
