  • Stolzy-Letey Environmental Science Scholarship

    Purpose: To supplement the income that the recipient is earning through work to meet college expenses.
    Eligibility: Current Environmental Science major who has either junior or senior status during the current academic year. A minimum 3.0 GPA and evidence of employment currently, or within the past 12 months, are required. Students are not eligible for this award if they have previously received funding through this Scholarship.
    Amount: $1,250 for the current academic year
    Information: Applications will be reviewed in the first week of the month following the application date and award winners announced in the second week. By applying, the applicant agrees to allow the scholarship committee access to their UCR academic transcripts.

  • Stolzy-Letey Environmental Science Travel Scholarship

    Purpose: To assist in expenses for a student to make a poster or oral presentation at the Soil Science of America (SSSA) annual meeting.
    Eligibility: Current Environmental Science major who has either junior or senior status during the current academic year. A minimum 3.0 GPA and evidence of employment currently, or within the past 12 months, are required. Students are not eligible for this award if they have previously received funding through this Scholarship.
    Amount: Reimbursement of Expenses (Within California, Arizona, Nevada: $250 per person Within the US but outside California, Arizona, Nevada: $500 per person). Note travel advances are possible.
    Information: In the event that a recipient of this scholarship does not attend the SSSA annualmeetings, the other submitted applications will be reviewed accordingly. Reimbursement amounts follow UCR Campus Policy. Applications will be reviewed in the first week of the month following the application date and award winners announced in the second week. By submitting an application, the applicant agrees to allow the scholarship committee access to their UCR academic transcripts.

  • Albert Marsh ENSC Undergraduate Travel Award

    Purpose: Albert Marsh ENSC Undergraduate Travel Award Application covers expenses of travel, lodging, & registration to professional meetings and/or extended formal training such as workshops or study abroad classes related to the mission of the ENSC department.
    Amount: The maximum award is $1000. 

    Information: If support for travel to a professional meeting is requested, the student must be presenting research results. Applications will be reviewed in the first week of the month following the application date and award winners announced in the second week.

  • Albert Marsh ENSC Undergraduate Research Award

    Purpose: Award for undergraduate research conducted under the supervision of a faculty mentor. The research should be a discrete project rather than general participation in a broader research effort. The award can be used for supplies and travel needed to conduct the research, and for publication charges.
    Amount: The maximum award is $500.

    Information: Applications will be reviewed in the first week of the month following the application date and award winners announced in the second week.

    Purpose: Award for supplies and travel for outreach projects related to environmental science. The outreach should be a discrete project rather than general participation in a broader extension/outreach effort.
    Amount: The maximum award is $500.

  • George and Hilda Liebig Environmental Science Scholarship for Undergraduate Excellence

    Purpose: To reward the Environmental Science Major with the highest overall GPA upon completion of their undergraduate degree.
    Amount: The maximum award is $500.
    Eligibility: Students that have completed all the requirements for a bachelor degree at UCR with a major in Environmental Science, and are graduating during the following academic year.
    Information: At the end of the spring quarter, this academic year, the Environmental Sciences Scholarship Committee will determine, based on student records, which Environmental Sciences major has the highest overall GPA and who is graduating during the following academic year. This student will be presented with a certificate in the name of George and Hilda Liebig Environmental Science Scholarship for Undergraduate Excellence.
